Our Vision: A community where all young people have equal opportunity to fulfill their capacity for greatness.

TAP works in partnership with youth and their allies to use their voices, realize their power and influence change to create a safe and healthy community.

TAP achieves this by providing health education and training, increasing youth access to health services, and building partnerships with other youth service providers.

TAP has been serving Contra Costa youth for over 30 years.


What Services Does TAP Provide?

Education and Training

TAP works with school districts to ensure proper implementation of HIV and Comprehensive Sexuality Education (SB 71) by providing administrative technical assistance, and trainings and curricula for teachers.

Activities include:

  • ED Code/State Standard Compliance Support
  • Curricula Review, Development
  • Teacher Training
  • Implementation Planning
  • Sustainability Plans
  • Youth Stats — adolescent health fact sheets

Clinical Services/Health Access

School Based Health Clinics — Public Health Clinic Services conduct school-based health clinics at nine high schools in Contra Costa. The clinics offer sports physicals, wellness exams, immunizations, vision & hearing screening, HIV testing, reproductive health services, and referrals to community agencies. All services are free or low-cost. The high schools with school based health clinics include Richmond High School, Kennedy High School, DeAnza High School, Pinole Valley High School, Mt. Diablo High School, Ygnacio Valley High School, Concord High School, Pittsburg High School and Riverside High School.

TAP Training Program

TAP coordinates training opportunities to build the capacity of adolescent health providers throughout the county.
